Stefano TONCHIA was born on 1st May, 1965 in Udine. He received a Master Degree “magna cum laude” in Managerial Engineering from the University of Udine, the qualification “full marks” for the profession of engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in Innovation and Management Science from the University of Padua; he has been Adjunct Professor of Management at the Graduate School of Management – La Trobe University (Melbourne – Australia).

He is Full Professor of Business & Innovation Management at the University of Udine – Italy.

Stefano has been the Dean of the Project Management School at Alenia, the Italian Aeronautics Company (Finmeccanica Leonardo Group), and also directed the Scientific Director at KEYMEC – Innovation Center in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region (North-East of Italy).

He is a leading expert on Lean Management, Project Management, BPR and Performance Measurement.

He have published more than 100 papers, 8 books for the Italian major Financial publisher (Il Sole 24ORE) and 3 international books for Springer: “Process Management for the Extended Enterprise” (preface by Rosabeth M. Kanter, Harvard Business School) 2004, “Industrial Project Management” (preface by Russ Archibald, the living guru on PM) 2008, and “Performance Measurement: Linking Balanced Scorecard to Business Intelligence” (2010).

He works on research projects of Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), National Research Council (CNR), and European Union (EU).

He teaches in advanced courses, and acts as an advisor for leading Companies and public Institutions.

Stefano is USAF Honorary Commander at the Aviano Air Base (Italy).
