      Heat transfer problems: development of finite-element codes for the solution of heat transfer problems.

      New refrigerants: prediction of thermodynamic properties, prediction and experimental evaluation of the performance of refrigerating plants. Azeotropic and zeotropic refrigerant mixtures.

      Heat transfer improvement in heat exchangers and heat sinks by means of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

      Commercial refrigeration: design of display cabinets, evaluation of air curtains by means of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

      Environmental impact of refrigeration systems.

      Solutions to reduce emissions to atmosphere of VOC by biofiltration: system design and management.

Current research activity:

      Refrigeration systems applied to food technologies, food storage, cooling and freezing: innovative solutions and energy saving.

      Strategies for the reduction of energy consumption in supermarkets: modelling and design.

Publications:

Author of more than 160 scientific publications, many of them published in refereed journals, as well as author of textbooks and chapters in edited books.
