The WSPLC will bring together academia and industry professionals as well as students and researchers to present and discuss ongoing work on existing and future power line communication (PLC) systems, PLC applications, PLC standardization activities with emphasis, but not limited, to:

  • signal processing, coding, and modulation
  • channel modeling,
  • measurement results
  • hardware implementations
  • narrow band, broad band and ultra wide band applications,
  • indoor, outdoor, and in-vehicle PLC systems
  • energy efficient protocols
  • smart grids

Contributions from related fields, as for instance wireless, that explain analogies/differences with PLC and stimulate cross-fertilization, are also welcome.

Extended Abstract Submission - deadline July 26, 2009

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit an extended abstract up to two pages in PDF Portable Document Format. The extended abstract should include all information necessary to allow the reviewers to assess the contribution. All submitted contributions will be peer-reviewed for their quality, correctness, originality and relevance.

The deadline for the abstract submission is July 26, 2009.

Abstract submissions have to be sent via e-mail to the chair, Prof. Andrea M. Tonello, e-mail: tonello@uniud.it.
The e-mail must include in the subject line the text: Abstract submission to WSPLC 2009.
The e-mail must also include the contact author information.
The submissions will be notified upon e-mail reception.

Final Short Paper Submission - deadline September 14, 2009

Authors of accepted abstract are requested to prepare a final short paper.
The authors are also requested to present their work at the workshop. The short paper should include a synthetic description of the presentation offered at the workshop detailing the main problem addressed, solution, results and bibliography.

The recommended length is up to three pages with a hard limit to 4 pages.
The paper must be in single column format as detailed in the template files, with single spaced lines, and times new roman font with size 10 pt. The paper has also to be converted in .PDF format embedding all fonts. The size of the file must not exceed 5 MB. Templates are available below.

At least one author of each accepted paper is kindly requested to register before September 4, 2009 to have the paper included in the WSPLC proceedings.

The deadline for the final submission is September 14, 2009.

The papers have to be sent via e-mail to the chair, e-mail: wsplc09@uniud.it
The e-mail must include in the subject line the text: Final WSPLC09 Paper.

The short papers will not be copyrighted which will allow further publication elsewhere with the appropriate extension.
The short papers will be freely downloadable from the workshop web site to allow high dissemination of the research results. They will also be included in the archive of publications on Power Line Communications and related issues accessible from PLC DocSearch

Templates for Abstract and Final Short Paper

Submissions must be in PDF format with all fonts embedded. To help in the preparation of the abstract and short paper, below please find and use the MS Word and Latex template files. The size of the file must not exceed 5 MB

The paper must be in single column format as detailed in the template files, with single spaced lines, and time new roman font size 10 pt. Do not add page numbers.
